Most of you, who have found this blog, have at least once considered that humans drinking moo milk is a little odd. I think I would be preaching to the choir here if I went on a rant about that. I mean no mammal, be it cow, human or otherwise, breastfeeds for life. Am I right?
The other day my girlfriends were talking about how there's this thing where you feed a pumpkin cow milk. Have you heard about this? You surgically implant a tube or a straw like an IV, and the pumpkin is fed cow milk. I think this is hilarious! Not only should grown people drink breastmilk from a cow, but so should a pumpkin! Too funny.
Anyway, I often take these kinds of photos of my breakfast fruit, nuts and nut milk, because I think it's so pretty. Here is one from last week with strawberries, walnuts (that have been soaked, rinsed, and then dehydrated so I can digest them), and almond milk poured over top. It's so good. This morning it was the same nuts with banana. My kids think it's a real treat drizzled with a little honey. Mmm... :-)

I think it's also applicable to point out that besides humans, no other animal consumes the milk of another species unless it is a "life and death" situation.
I don't think humans look anything like cows, do you? I'm pretty sure we don't have any "cow" in us :)
Wow, I hadn't heard that one. The dairy farmers must love it. I'm trying to figure out the logic. Is there a new ad campaign showing that pumpkins need calcium and this is the best way to get it? LOL Okay, admittedly, I haven't gone completely dairy free yet, but this news is hysterical.
You know how I feel about those breakfast meals. Yum! Your is very pretty indeed. And, I love that you added a little honey. ;-)

Heather,
OMGoodness, so true, so funny. :-)
Shirley,
You crack me up! And, you can still laugh with us, even if you're not totally dairy free :-)
I'm not sure the pumpkin thing is done anymore. I looked for information on it but the only reference I found was from Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
I dunno about lactating for life but sometimes it sure feels like it! LOL! November will be 11 years without a break for me.
Wow Sandra! You go, mama!
