reusing If You Care muffin cups

A few weeks ago my friend, Ann, was over baking with me. She thought I should tell you about how I reuse my unbleached paper muffin cups. It's a great way to save money, plus it's better for your health and the environment.

I discovered a couple years ago that the If You Care brand of muffin cups came off so clean. So I decided to put them in a bag and keep them in the freezer (top photo) to use again the next time. After using them twice, they were still coming off easily and clean. I put them back in the bag and into the freezer. Ever since, that's what I've been doing. I can usually get at least three uses out of them, depending on what I'm putting in them.

Cheers, Kelly

Good to know. You always have great ideas! We used to use that brand also but have recently just stopped using any cups.

Cool! What do you use to keep them from sticking? Do you oil and flour the muffin trays?

I find that we lick our muffin cups so clean that we could probably use them again too - but then again, maybe not quite so hygienic?

You can also buy silicone cups that you can use again and again.

Thanks for sharing, Kelly. :-) I usually don't use anything myself. I just grease with a little olive oil.

You can reuse parchment paper the same way, too. Or, similar, to what Naomi said, use the Silpat liners.

I love recycling ideas. I try to do as much recycling in those small ways as possible. It all adds up.

I was googling about reusing muffin papers, and your site (which I am already familiar with) came up!

Funny, I am using the same brand as you! I am thrilled to know that I can indeed reuse them, and thank you for the tip on freezing them! Makes perfect sense!
